Forensic Psychology

Forensic Psychology is the interface between psychology and the law. Psychological services provided for the law enforcement and legal communities are forensic psychological services. However, most forensic psychologists provide services which are both clinical and forensic in nature. When a psychologist assesses an individual, group, or community, who was emotionally traumatized by an incident, the treatment is clinical in nature, designed to assist in recovering from the trauma. But, when the psychologist is asked to provide a report for the court or an international governing body, regarding the extent of the trauma, and to assess the psychological damage incurred, then the psychologist is providing forensic services.

Application is disseminated, but not limited to, Homeland Security, Terrorist Psychology, Forensic Assessment for Security in Employee Recruitment Selection and Placement, Emergency Preparedness & Response Planning, Critical Incident Debriefing, Psychological-Medical-Crime Scene Investigation, and more national, regional, and international concerns for communities and profit zas well as non-profit corporations.
