Clinical Department
Sabine Rizk-Skaf
Psychology Practitioner
In 1997, Sabine Rizk-Skaf completed her B.A. of Clinical Psychology from the Faculty of Human Sciences of Université Saint-Joseph (Lebanon). Primarily, she received general and specialized courses in diverse fields of psychology (abnormal psychology, developmental psychology,), as well as preliminary training in psychopathology in different institutions, such as Hôpital Hôtel-Dieu de France and Hôpital de la Croix.
After being accepted to one of Paris’s most renowned universities for psychology studies, Université René Descartes-Paris V, she moved to Paris in 1998 where she studied for four years.
She graduated in 2002 with a Masters of Clinical Psychology.
Besides thorough and comprehensive courses in various fields of
clinical psychology (psychopathology, psychometrics,
psychoanalytical approach…), Sabine Skaf received intensive training
in adult and child psychopathology in Hôpital de la Maison Blanche.
In 2002, she returned to her home country where she worked as a
clinical psychologist in one of the few schools for children with
special needs (Association du Foyer de l’Enfant Libanais), until
July 2003.
Her job mainly consisted in performing psycho-educational assessments for each child and in providing recommendations and guidance for the families of these children. She also had the opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary team, which strengthened her knowledge in fields parallel to psychology and her belief in teamwork.
In 2003, Sabine Skaf moved to Egypt with her husband, where she
joined the Learning Resource Center, one of Egypt’s fewest clinics
for children with learning disorders.
Again, she worked as a clinical psychologist, part of a
multidisciplinary as well as a multicultural team.
She found her experience at LRC to be extremely crucial and
enriching, both on the professional and personal level.
Sabine Skaf is in charge of psycho-educational assessments for children and adults, as well as home study reports and parent preparation sessions required for international adoptions.
